About Exeter Writers
Exeter Writers has a long and active history: Originally founded in June 1950 as the Exeter & District Writers’ Circle, they’ve become what must be one of the longest continually running writing groups in the country.
Their membership is a mix of published authors and writers on their way to achieving publication. They all share a love of writing, a desire to learn and a willingness to support one another.
Staunch supporters of the local writing community, they are involved in a variety of events that take place around the region, and are always keen to promote and maintain links with other writers and groups.
Exeter Literary Festival is an entertaining programme of events for celebrating the diversity of Exeter’s past, present and future wordsmiths.
A lively, diverse mix of events have been planned in venues around the city. We hope everyone will find something in this year’s programme that will make them think, laugh and perhaps even cry.
