Don’t Build Fires on the Backs of Big Fish.

We all know the story, right? Sailor meets island. Island turns out to be a big fish. Fish drowns sailor.

It’s a tale as old as time, recurring throughout the ages in different cultures and countries across the world, including ‘The Whale’ of the Exeter Book.

But what is it that makes this story so worth telling? And how do we relate to it today?

Join Chris – spoken-word poet and sumberging artist – on this strange, soggy voyage into the heart of The Miclan Whale. Part talk & part performance. Expect salacious cetaceans, live music, silly spoken-word & Free Willy.

This event will be live-streamed from Exeter Custom House. This event is going to be filmed for live broadcast on Crowdcast.

We continue to monitor Government guidance regarding the pandemic. Subject to any easing of national restrictions, there might be an opportunity to join a small, socially distanced audience at the Custom House. If you would like to register your interest in being part of this audience, you can do so, here.

If you would like to be part of the virtual audience and tune into the live-stream from home, you can ‘save your seat’ here.
