We are delighted to announce the Quay Words Autumn 2020 Writer-in-Residence opportunity at Exeter Custom House.
We are looking for a writer, storyteller, spoken word artist or other wordsmith to be in residence at the Custom House for the equivalent of at least one day per week during a the two-month season of the Quay Words Autumn programme from 1st October to 30th November 2020.
The theme of the Autumn 2020 season of Quay Words is Wellbeing, which is a major focus for Exeter as a UNESCO City of Literature. We’d like your creative responses to exploring the many wellbeing benefits of writing and reading: workshops, socially engaged practice, writing from life and memoir are just some of the avenues that could open up.
Quay Words writer residencies in July and August took place in digital form, but we anticipate that the Autumn residency will take place in the building, with measures in place for socially-distanced, limited group sizes. If circumstances at any point prevent activity from taking place in the building, we will work with our Writer-in-Residence to move the activity online.
